About CBD

WHAT IS CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent that can originate from two different types of Cannabis plants. One is the hemp plant and the other is the marijuana plant. The differences between the two is that the hemp plant contains very little THC (0.3% or less) and the marijuana plant which is mainly THC. We only sell CBD products that are derived from Hemp plants with 0.3% THC or less. This is due to the legal limit of THC from Hemp plants, as well as the natural percentage of THC in the plants in general.

CBD comes in many different forms including Oil Tinctures, Topicals such as Creams, Gummies, Softgels, Additives, Vape juices, and Balms. There have also new companies designing CBD-infused teas and other beverages.

In terms of history, CBD was discovered in 1940, and is one of at least 113 Cannabinoids found in hemp plants. CBD, from initial tests and studies, show benefits including relief from pain, inflammation, arthritis, anxiety, sleepness-ness as well as many others. CBD is non-psychoactive meaning you do not get high from consumption. The hemp plant contains less than 0.3% THC.

HOW DOES CBD WORK?

The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to Cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, promoting pain management, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.

WHAT DOES CBD STAND FOR?

CBD is a medical abbreviation that stands for Cannabidiol. One of 400 cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, and one of 113 that have been individually identified.

DOES CBD GIVE A BODY HIGH?

No, because CBD contains less than 0.3% of THC, CBD does not have nearly enough THC concentration to give you a body high. Therefore, CBD does not give you a body high.

Note* Some people experience a placebo effect as if they were high, but normal CBD tinctures should not induce a high.

HOW CAN CBD HELP ME?

The rise in popularity associated with CBD stemmed largely from initial evidence suggesting benefits for seizures associated with epilepsy & Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The first CBD infused drug, named Epidiolex is designed for rare forms of seizures was just released in early 2018.

Recent studies show that CBD has the potential to improve quality of life for nearly everyone – even if you’re healthy. Many CBD brands have thousands of reviews from customers stating how CBD has helped them with various symptoms. It’s important to note that one of the reasons CBD may be effective is because it has been found to affect brain neuroreceptors that control many different symptoms and feelings. Based off studies and research here are some conditions CBD may provide some benefits for: Inflammation, Pain, Anxiety/Depression, Insomnia, Fitness recovery.

Note* We are not claiming CBD products will help any of these conditions.

HOW DO I CONSUME CBD OIL?

Hemp CBD Oils should be taken under the tongue. Place described number of drops mentioned on label under your tongue and hold for 60-90 seconds before swallowing. This allows the oil to be absorbed by your body to receive the best effects.

The CBD oil we offer has a couple different applications:

Through Mouth: You can take the CBD oil orally by holding a sublingual dose under the tongue for 30-90 seconds (recommended for fastest absorption), or blend it into a smoothie to mask the taste.

On Skin: Apply the oil topically to your skin (can be applied directly to a problem area). However your skins absorbs less than taken orally.

*Note that each product item will have their own specific directions for consumption. For the best effects, follow the instructions on your oil tincture!

WHAT DOES CBD FEEL LIKE?

Short Answer: Many people have described in many ways, including as a wave of relief or relaxation that can be felt throughout the whole body when ingested orally or vaporized. As well, clinical studies have noted that topical application may result in a reduction in swelling, pain, and discomfort.

Note* Each person feels and experiences CBD differently, and we cannot make or guarantee any feeling or results.

Long Answer: CBD has been studied to affect multiple sets of receptors all throughout the body. Rather than binding to your cannabinoid receptors directly (like THC), CBD has shown to exhibit an indirect influence on these receptors, increasing the levels of endocannabinoids produced naturally by your body. For reference, endocannabinoids are produced naturally in the body and phytocannabinoids (like THC and CBD) come from plants.

SHOULD I TAKE CBD BEFORE A MEAL, AFTER, OR ON AN EMPTY STOMACH?

The timing of when you take CBD Oil sublingually is marginal and debatable. However, scientifically speaking, you should take CBD oils right after a meal in order to increase bioavailability. Bioavailability is the percentage of absorption of the CBD into your blood stream circulation in order to have an active effect.

This means that taking CBD after a meal could possibly lead to better effects. Note that taking after a meal means the longer it may take to feel the effects if digested orally. Sublingually would stay the same, since it is not digested.

HOW DOES CBD OIL ABSORPTION WORK?

The way CBD absorption works is that when you take the CBD oil under your tongue, it is absorbed by your sublingual glands right into your blood stream. The reason you put CBD under your tongue is because the sublingual glands are the best and highest absorbing mechanism for CBD and other supplement intake. The absorption of the sublingual gland is much faster and more efficient than any other way of intake, at a range of 12% to 35% absorption for any dietary supplement.

Once inside the blood stream, the CBD skips right over the digestive system which is the reason for faster results. Digestion through swallowing has a lower bio-availability rate of around 15-20%, while topical CBD creams are most likely not able to permeate into your blood stream. Verify with the brand first before using CBD topicals. CBD products that are not absorbed by the sublingual glands, and that is still in your mouth after gets swallowed and goes through the digestive tract.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF CBD AND CBD OIL?

The shelf life of CBD may be a year to two years depending on the product and how it is stored. CBD Gummy Bears can have a shelf life up to a year while CBD Oils is between 12 and 24 months. Look at the label on your tincture for more information about that specific CBD tinctures shelf life.

Note* Keep your CBD products in a cool and dry area for the best shelf life.

Moving from legal control of the FDA to the Department of Agriculture. Therefore, Hemp-based CBD with 0.3% THC or less is considered legal. Hemp is no longer fall under the same legalities of Marijuana, and CBD will be classified as an agricultural commodity, such as corn and vegetables.

HOW DO I KNOW THE QUALITY OF THE CBD?

Check out the Certification of Analysis (COA) on each product page. This tells you the concentration of CBD and its components. We supply the Certification of Analysis and lab results for all of the companies we work with.

WHAT IS FULL SPECTRUM CBD VS PURE CBD ISOLATE (THC-FREE)?

Full Spectrum refers to CBD oil products that not only contain CBD,but also contain some terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN and even some THC. Usually these will be in ratios that were naturally occurring and extracted from the plant and specific strain. But they are also occasionally added back into products as an isolated form to raise the potency of the product.

However, there have been no current studies testing the effectiveness of one versus another. What we can say, is that most studies have used mostly used Full Spectrum CBD oils versus Pure CBD Isolate. One has not been proven to be better than the other, as each person has an opinion. No definitive facts have been gathered on this subject, despite what people say. That is why we offer both Pure and Full-Spectrum CBD products. For those that get drug tested, Full Spectrum is something to be cautious about. The THC found in full spectrum hemp products is minimal (less than 0.3%). Despite this, full spectrum oils still have a possibility of triggering a drug test.

In cases where drug tests are involved, such as sports players, professional weight-lifters or government officials such as the military, Pure oils may be a better option for you. Pure CBD oils contain zero THC and are 99% CBD with the rest being extra cannabinoids. Therefore, they are not likely to trigger a drug test. We recommend buying Pure CBD oils if you will be regularly drug tested to minimize the possibility of triggering the test. Still use caution, as the wrong brands who label their products incorrectly may still trigger the test. That is why transparency and results are so important.

Note* We do not guarantee that CBD Isolate products will not fail a drug test. Contact the brand or consult your employer or respective person regarding taking CBD oil products. If you need to provide lab test results for ingredients, they are on our product pages.

HOW IS CBD EXTRACTED?

CBD can be extracted in a few ways, however the most popular and highest quality way currently is CO2 Extraction. CO2 extraction involves a multi-step process that includes extreme heating, cooling, crystallization as well as other steps depending on the final form of the CBD product.

If through alcohol extraction first, plant matter is funneled into a column and the crude extraction begins and what is left is Oleoresin (a natural or artificial mixture of essential oils and a resin). Then it is given an alcohol bath to remove wax, fats, and lipids. The alcohol is then removed from the solution in a rotary evaporator using controlled heat. The oil is then fractionally distilled which removes impurities through a boiling point process. The extraction process is finished. 50lbs of plant matter = 1 Kilo of purified isolate .

*Note that each manufacturer may extract CBD differently using unique intricate methods for increased quality. We only supply the highest quality CBD products using the most modern and technologically advanced extraction process.
