THCA In Kentucky | Buy THCA In Kentucky

THCA is growing in popularity as more and more people are discovering its similarities to weed, and so naturally, Kentuckians across the Bluegrass state are eager to get their hands on it.  But, as most of us know quite well, cannabis laws, both for hemp and marijuana, can be tricky and ever-changing, which has left many state residents unsure if they can even enjoy delta 8 flower without breaking the law.

You’ve probably noticed that hemp laws have been changing in many states across the country, so it’s important to clarify where delta 8 flower stands in Kentucky.  Not only that, but every hemp consumer needs to know what types of retailers are more likely than others to deliver fresh, authentic, high-quality and effective THCA, to guarantee maximum satisfaction.

What is THCA?

THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is THC’s precursor, naturally found in raw cannabis flower, that becomes delta 9 when it’s heated.  This is why you’ll almost exclusively find THCA in the forms of vapes, flower, and concentrates – all products that require heating in order to be used, so that the person is actually consuming delta 9 THC when they use the THCA product.

Before we look at Kentucky’s laws on THCA, you’re probably wondering if it’s even federally legal.  In fact, it is.  THCA is a federally legal product because it completely complies with the 2018 Farm Bill.  The Farm Bill effectively legalized all hemp-derived products, as long as they are shown through third-party testing to contain a maximum of 0.3% delta 9 THC.  Because THCA is an entirely different cannabinoid, despite turning into delta 9, all THCA products are considered legal, without limits on their strength, how much may be purchased or how much a person can possess at any given time.

Kentucky does stick to the Farm Bill, meaning that they are not one of the 18 states that have banned THCA and all other THCA product forms.  Like the Farm Bill, Kentucky law does not restrict how much a person can buy, how much they can possess, or how strong the product may be in terms of its cannabinoid concentration.  This is good news, of course, as it means that you can enjoy THCA as you so choose, without having to worry about unintentionally breaking the law in the process.

But, Kentucky’s THCA laws are worth keeping an eye on.  In 2021, the state’s Department of Agriculture published a memo declaring that delta 8 is a controlled substance, and illegal according to federal law.  This caused law enforcement to raid retailers selling delta 8 products, and in response, the Kentucky Hemp Association sued the state, requesting an injunction to continue selling products containing the cannabinoid, which was granted.  Lawmakers attempted to ban it again in 2022, unsuccessfully.  While delta 8 is not THCA, this does show that certain hemp derivatives are, in general, under threat.

So, what about marijuana, which remains a federally illegal substance, unlike hemp?  Kentucky is actually one of the strictest anti-marijuana states in the country, neither allowing recreational nor medicinal use of marijuana.  Possession of up to 8 ounces of marijuana is classified as a misdemeanor offense, meaning a fine of up to $250, and up to 45 days behind bars.  Possession of more than 8 ounces is considered a felony as the state recognizes this as intent to distribute.

The city of Louisville has put in efforts to decriminalize possession of small amounts, however.  As of 2019, law enforcement is discouraged from arresting anyone found with less than half an ounce of marijuana.  As of now, there are absolutely no pending initiatives to legalize recreational marijuana.  However, legislators have made numerous attempts to legalize medical marijuana, with no success.

Where Can You Buy THCA in Kentucky?

Let’s focus again on THCA, since it is completely legal for any adult residing in Kentucky, moving onto where you can buy it.  There are a few different types of vendors that are known for offering this THCA product, and as you’re about to find out, some of them are more trustworthy and reliable than others.  In fact, some of them should be avoided at all costs.

#1: Online THCA Retailers

Online retailers like Bloomz are always the preferred avenue, not just for THCA, but really, for any hemp product.  And, if you ask any avid hemp user, they’ll agree.  Online hemp retailers have dedicated their entire lives to selling just hemp products, and so they have to really make sure that they’re carrying the best of the best in order to be competitive.  This is better than buying from a store that specializes in an entirely different industry, as there is less incentive to carry top-shelf THCA flower.

At Bloomz, you can know that you’re about to enjoy only the most potent, most flavorful, and highest-quality THCA on the market.  We’re happy to ship our flower to every city and town in Kentucky, including Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Bowling Green, Paducah, Owensboro, Somerset, Bell City, Mammoth Cave, and more. Bloomz flower arrives in just a few days, as we’re known for our super-fast shipping.  Besides that, shipping is free, and our THCA prices are extremely fair since we do all of the work in-house.

We work with organic hemp flower that’s sourced from local farms, and it’s thoughtfully bred to yield high THCA levels.  You can verify that for yourself, as we make our third-party lab reports easily accessible.  Meanwhile, you can choose from some of the most in-demand cannabis strains on today’s market, while knowing that you’re getting a perfectly fresh THCA product because of our high turnover rate.

Of course, buying THCA online also means convenience.  You don’t have to leave your house to be treated to premium THCA product, as you can just place your order with us online and allow us to send it straight to your door.

#2: Vape Stores

You may have already noticed some vape stores in your neighborhood carry THCA.  Going this route is typically hit or miss, as whether or not the product is top-quality depends on the business owner’s standards.  Because vape stores don’t specialize in hemp, but rather nicotine-based vaping products, owners don’t need to sell the best of the best, since their business doesn’t depend on it.  And, they may or may not even be certain that what they’re carrying is the best THCA flower they can get their hands on, as that all depends on how educated they are on the hemp industry.

#3: Miscellaneous Local Businesses

Finally, you may encounter some THCA while you’re out running errands.  For example, there are some gas stations and convenience stores that carry it.  But, we really, really urge you to refrain from getting your hemp products from these types of businesses.  It’s highly unlikely that storeowners are motivated to carry top-shelf THCA product, as they’re all about selling product cheap and fast.  Besides that, it’s these types of environments where inventory can sit on the shelves for months, losing all of its fresh taste and potency, since THCA is not a highly in-demand product in one of these establishments.

What to Look for in a THCA Product

No matter where you decide to buy your THCA from, it’s always important to check for certain things that play a big role in whether or not you’ll end up satisfied with your purchase.  Not all hemp products are made under the strictest quality standards, since there are a lot of different factors that influence how you enjoy your THCA.  Here are the four main things to pay attention to before you buy.

  • Lab Reports: Never, ever buy THCA, or any hemp product, without first looking at the third-party lab reports that a company should make easy to find through their website.  These reports are provided by an unbiased, state-licensed laboratory, and show the purity level of the product, its potency, its cannabinoid and terpene profiles, its legal compliance and its safety.  Without these lab reports, it’s difficult to know if what you’re getting is, in fact, a high-quality and safe, let alone authentic, THCA product
  • A Fresh Product: Hemp products are considered usable for up to 2 years depending on the product type.  After that point, its compounds start to degrade due to age, and what this does is dramatically decrease the effectiveness of the product, while making its flavor and aroma stale and weak.  Choose a company that has a high product turnover rate – in other words, makes enough sales to prevent products from sitting on shelves for long – to ensure you end up with fresh and potent THCA flower.
  • Organic Hemp: Finally, you want to always be sure that you’re buying strictly organic THCA flower – in other words, hemp that was grown using organic methods.  This way, you’re not taking in pesticides and other questionable environmental toxins into your body.

Why it’s Better to Buy Your THCA Online, Instead of In-Person

Like we mentioned, it’s always ideal to purchase THCA from an online vendor that’s known for being trustworthy.  In general, the online hemp marketplace ensures a more reliable experience to consumers, since it’s so incredibly competitive, and because demand is a lot higher online than it is in a local market.  In other words, hemp retailers have made a point to really satisfy a growing number of hemp enthusiasts, to ensure that they can provide the most exceptional THCA products throughout the industry.

As you’re about to find out, there are plenty of major benefits to buying your THCA from a reputable online store as opposed to a local one.

#1: It’s More Convenient

Obviously, buying your THCA online offers more convenience, which we talked about earlier.  It means that you can shop for premium THCA while relaxing at home, and it also means that you don’t need to track down a store in your neighborhood that you hope carries this type of product.  Just add to cart, checkout, and know that THCA is making its way to your front door.

#2: You are Likely to Save Money On THCA

By shopping for THCA online at Bloomz, you will probably save a good amount of money.  For one thing, online stores have fewer overhead costs than physical stores, so online stores can charge less, while often offering free shipping to boot.  And, online stores are far more likely to hold frequent sales and send special offers to customers, not to mention having options to buy in bulk, and purchase “bundles” to grab multiple THCA products at once, at a great price.

#3: The THCA Product is More Likely to Be Fresh

Online stores such as Bloomz are likely to have a much higher product turnover rate because they see a lot more daily visitors than a local store.  Because of that, the THCA flower that leaves the warehouse is a lot more likely to be extremely fresh, making it more potent in its effects and more flavorful.

#4: The THCA Selection is Likely to be Bigger

Because online retailers like Bloomz usually have access to bigger storage facilities, they can offer a wider selection of THCA flower than, for instance, that local vape store that can only fit a couple of products on their shelf.  This allows you to choose from a bigger selection of product types, strains, and so on.

#5: THCA Quality Standards are Usually Much Higher

With the online hemp market being so competitive and so visible to consumers around the world, companies have to work extra hard to grab customers and keep them coming back.  As a result, the entire online market is incentivized to offer nothing but the absolute best THCA flower possible.  So, you’ll benefit by having access to top-shelf THCA when you buy online.

#6: You Can Learn a Lot More About the Product and the Company

Opting for a good online company provides the ability to really find out exactly how the THCA product is made, coupled with the particular standards and practices of the company you’re buying from.  It’s always a nice touch to be able to find out where the hemp was grown, how the brand makes their products, and other little details that can ultimately tell you a lot about the quality of what you’re getting.

What Does the Future Hold for THCA in the Bluegrass State?

Luckily, THCA is legal for Kentuckians – at least for now, that is.  Still, we can see that not every THCA product is guaranteed to satisfy your needs, and a lot of that comes down to who you buy from.

Plus, you can find what you’re looking for with the THCA at Bloomz, as we’re ready to meet all of your expectations. Bloomz flower arrives fresh thanks to our high product turnover rate, and we offer some spectacular strains that complement THCA beautifully. Bloomz flower is grown organically, and our third-party lab reports tell you everything you need to know about our quality and safety standards.  Explore our THCA flower, and know you’re being treated to the absolute best on the market!
