The Safety Factor

First off, let’s discuss safety factors when it comes to combining different THCA flower products.  Fortunately, there’s no risk of major adverse health effects when mixing any two cannabis products together.  After all, cannabis is nontoxic, and there are no negative interactions between individual cannabinoids, like THCA, Delta 8 THC, HHC, THC-P, etc., as these compounds all naturally coexist in the plant’s chemical composition, naturally.

Now, with that being said, let’s offer a reminder that THCA flower is intoxicating, because THCA is the raw precursor to Delta 9 THC, which becomes delta 9 once it’s heated.  What this means is that combining THCA flower with another intoxicating flower product like, for instance, THC-P flower, can mean getting ‘more high’ than usual.  This can mean a higher risk of side effects for certain individuals, mainly those with a low tolerance.

Those side effects include:

  • Anxiety
  • Grogginess
  • Forgetfulness
  • Lightheadedness
  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth
  • Dry/bloodshot eyes
  • Overall impairment

Now, we do need to mention that there’s no known unique effect of combining two cultivation methods together – like boutique/exotic THCA flower and indoor-grown delta 8 flower, for example.  The only thing to consider is that boutique flower/exotic flower is usually a bit more potent, meaning that the high can be a little stronger than usual, and so can the strain-related effects due to the higher terpene concentration.

Is There a Reason for Mixing Boutique/Exotic THCA Flower with Indoor Delta 8 THC, THC-P, or HHC Flower?

There are numerous reasons for mixing and matching different hemp flower products, as the combined results can be totally one-of-a-kind.  For example, combining some THCA flower with some THC-P flower can mean a stronger, more euphoric high, as THC-P is 10x as intoxicating as delta 9 THC.

Besides that, you’re almost always mixing two unique strains together as well, and so the outcome of this can be very unique, and even offer a way to personalize your high according to your most specific needs – something we’ll go over a bit more here shortly.

What Should Be Taken into Consideration When Combining Exotic/Boutique THCA Flower with Indoor Delta 8 THC, THC-P, or HHC Flower

If you’re going to combine two types of THCA flower together, regardless of their unique cannabinoids, strains, or how they were cultivated, although you do want to ensure that the THCA flower combinations you’re using are of good quality and free from contaminants, as poor quality or contaminated cannabis can lead to undesirable effects; but instead, the other ways in which the two products differ from one another, there are certain things to remember in order to ensure that you’re really getting the experience you want out of it.

You see, the interaction of different cannabinoids can lead to an entourage effect, where the compounds work together to produce a more significant effect than they would individually.

#1: Watch That Dosage

First off, pay attention to how much of each THCA flower product you’re taking.  How much of each flower product you take is going to directly decide how high you end up being, and going particularly heavy with two flower products at once can potentially lead to being far more intoxicated than you bargained for.  This is particularly the case if you’re new to using cannabis or a particular cannabinoid, hence it’s wise to start with a low dose and gradually increase it.  In turn, this helps you understand how your body reacts to the combination.

#2: Obviously, the Cannabinoids Matter

Naturally, the cannabinoids you’re mixing together is going to have a big impact on the outcome.  In this case, the ratio of THCA to other cannabinoids will influence the overall effect:

#3: Playing the Strain Game

If you’re combining two THCA flower products in different strains, then that will also have a big role in what the high feels like.  As we know, every strain has its own distinctive effects, with some strains being highly stimulating, others being sleep-inducing, and so on.  For example, taking a sativa-heavy strain along with an indica-heavy strain can give you a more balanced effect between the two, that feels a lot like a 50/50 hybrid.

#4: Yes, Method of Consumption is Worth Considering

Keep in mind, exotic/boutique and indoor THCA flower, like all flower, can be consumed in one of two methods for delivery.  Smoking and vaping offer a method of inhalation, while making and consuming flower-infused edibles means you’re ingesting your cannabinoid(s).  Inhalation-based methods will give you fast-acting effects that last for a couple of hours, and thus, are super potent.

Consuming the product means an onset time of 1-2 hours, and the high can last for up to 8 hours, with effects being more body-oriented.  You could opt to take both types of flower through the same method, or you might choose to, say, smoke an indoor delta 8 THC flower pre-roll and eat a homemade cookie made with indoor THCA flower.

#5: The Freshness Can’t Be Overlooked

Another thing that matters, regardless of the type of flower you’re using, is how fresh it is.  If one flower product is fresh and the other isn’t, that can really influence how high you’re going to get, since after several months, hemp THCA flower can start to break down and lose its potency.

It’s also worth mentioning that flower can lose its potency earlier if it’s not stored properly, which is why THCA flower products must be kept in an airtight container, in a dark, dry, and cool (at room temperature) place, in order to last.

There’s No Reason Why You Can’t Combine Exotic/Boutique THCA Flower with Indoor Delta 8, THC-P, or HHC Flower

Basically, THCA hemp products can be combined together in general, regardless of how they were grown, their dominant cannabinoids, or their strains.  And, mixing and matching can lead to whole new experiences through the synergistic effects of cannabinoids and terpenes.  Still, take note that everyone’s body chemistry is different, so a combination that works well for one person might not have the same effect on another.  Factors such as individual tolerance, body chemistry, and the specific strains used can all influence the experience  Experiment cautiously and pay attention to how your body responds.
